Drawn in the 1990’s by Gérard Danson, the Outremer 50 STD was a revelation of a new design catamaran.
Built by Atelier Outremer, the 50 STD was a futurist boat on the design with high manufacture solution as solid fiberglass. With strength lines, she literally slight on the water and made a perfect sum up of a real blue water cruising catamaran.
With more available space inside compared to the 55 Light, she benefits for 60cm more on the beam, the results is to provide to the owner more volume on the cockpit and saloon.
As all the Outremer Catamarans, the 55 STD took the solution of dagger boards to enlarge security, close to the wind she also more performant. She is also a powerful cat, simple, sea safe with a high standard of comfort when at sea.
Built in 1992, she is one of the first Outremer 50 STD ever built (N°2 of the sery) then extended to 55 by the shipyard. In a 4 cabins version + work shop and 2 separated shower/bathroom, all the accommodations are dedicated for space and crew.
This vessel is also rigged with genoa instead of a self-tacking Solent, more performant in small winds she also have lots of extra:
