Sailing across the Atlantic is the adventure of a lifetime. Many people dream of it; some choose to make that dream a reality.
Who are they? What sort of boats do they sail on? What are the conditions like? When is the best time to set off, and what’s the best route? And finally, could I do it too?

The program
Camille Allard, Head of Sailing Experience at Outremer, will chair the round-table discussion on 9 July. Among her guests will be the renowned marine meteorologist Christian Dumard, who will share his advice on sailing the Atlantic in both directions.
Matthieu Rougevin-Baville, Outremer’s sales director, will discuss sail plan, crew preparation and safety, whilst Maren and Matthias Wagener – who themselves crossed the Atlantic in 2022 aboard their Outremer 51 Vast – will bridge the gap between theory and practice by recounting their own experience.
Because sailing round the world on a catamaran also means looking after your boat, Sylvain Quinton, maintenance manager at Grand Large Services, will answer your most technical questions: what equipment to choose, which spare parts to take on board and where to stop for repairs if necessary.
During this round-table discussion, you’ll learn more about the unique support offered by Outremer Catamarans to its owners to help them bring their long-distance cruising projects to fruition.
