After several weeks at sea, arriving in Le Marin marks a key milestone for the rally crews: a much-needed technical stopover, but also a truly convivial moment ashore.

From an operational standpoint, the Grand Large Services teams supported the boats efficiently, allowing everyone to approach this stopover with peace of mind. This was the case for Nick, sailing an Outremer 52, who chose to haul his catamaran out in Le Marin for a technical stopover including antifouling, entrusted to Aurore and her team.

“The work was carried out in a very proactive way, with excellent anticipation of consumables, including a two-part antifouling, Propspeed, and saildrive seals that are difficult to source in Europe.”

The quality of the preparation allowed Nick and his crew to step away from the boat with complete confidence and fully enjoy Martinique: a week in Tartane, combining surf sessions, local discoveries, and genuine recovery time for the crew.

Relaunching the boat was straightforward, before heading to Le Marin marina, which was appreciated for its lively and local atmosphere. Nick also shared a great address in Sainte-Anne, with a shared favorite: TKay Local.

Beyond the technical aspects, Le Marin stands out for its logistical efficiency: well-stocked shipchandlers, easy provisioning, and even the installation of Starlink in less than 48 hours.

“Aurore, as well as the GLS teams, showed great professionalism and real commitment. Despite the intensity inherent to technical stopovers, we leave with a boat ready to sail, a well-rested crew, and the feeling of a successful stopover, well balanced between technical demands and quality of life.” Nick emphasizes.

Finally, this stopover was also marked by a friendly picnic at anchor, bringing together crews, the rally team, and partner Sevenstar Yacht Transport. Simple and warm moment, reflecting the spirit of the Outremer community.

A wonderful Martinican interlude, before heading back out to sea!
