Outremer at the 2027 Miami International Boat Show: We’re taking you sailing

This year, our presence in Miami is taking a different form. We won’t be setting up a stand; instead, we’re organising private test-sailing sessions aboard the Outremer 48, before, during and after the show. The true nature of a boat is best understood at sea.

Why have we made this choice?

A boat show displays boats at the dock. An Outremer is judged by other factors: its average speed on a crossing, how easily it can be manoeuvred by two people, how the hulls behave in rough seas, and how quiet it is at 9 knots. None of this can be seen from the pontoon.

We have therefore decided to devote our time and our teams to what really matters for a long-distance sailing project: putting you at the helm. Our sales team will be in Florida for the entire duration of the show and will be available at sea rather than at the stand.

What you’ll experience on board

A trial sail lasts around three hours, with a limited number of people on board, so that everyone can take the helm and manoeuvre the boat.

You’ll take the helm as soon as you leave the channel. You’ll hoist sails, trim them and jibe with a member of our team by your side. We’ll open every hatch and answer questions about energy, maintenance and wear parts. Together, we’ll look at the actual sailing data for the day – wind, angle, speed – rather than figures from a brochure.

You’ll leave with a clear understanding of how this boat performs at sea.

Outremer 48 – Built to go far, in every detail

The Outremer 48 is our latest long-range cruising catamaran. It features slender hulls and retractable centreboards to maintain high average speeds and shorten crossings, a cockpit designed for two-person handling, energy self-sufficiency suited to long stays at anchor, and simple systems that can be repaired far from shore.

Why choose an Outremer?

An Outremer is more than just a set of figures. It is a lightweight, seaworthy and safe boat, designed for serious long-distance cruising. Lightweight construction, daggerboards, an external helm position: every design choice serves a single purpose – to sail far and wide with confidence, whether with your family or a small crew.

In Miami, you’ll meet the team who will support you from the design of your boat right through to your first long-distance crossings.

Book your slot

Test sailings will take place before, during and after the Miami Boat Show in February 2027 (final dates will be announced very soon…)
The number of slots is limited by the boat’s capacity and weather conditions. We will confirm each request individually, arranging a slot to suit your schedule.
Will you be in Miami for the boat show? Please mention this in your request, and we’ll schedule your trial sail either before or after your day at the show.

The booking link for a sea trial will be available very soon…

The Outremer Ready support program

Buying an Outremer means deciding to set off on an adventure. Outremer Ready is the programme that makes this departure possible, with complete peace of mind. From the start of the project right through to your return from your voyage, we’ll support you in mastering your boat, developing your skills and setting sail with complete confidence.
