With a crossing completed in 10 days, 4 hours and 38 minutes, the Outremer 55 Enjoy the Silence takes 1st place in Class A Multihulls as well as the Multihull Line Honours, finishing more than 24 hours ahead of last year’s first arrival. Throughout this second leg, the crew’s performance kept the entire Outremer team on the edge of their seats.
Marc Mallaret, crew member of Enjoy the Silence:
“We had up to 28 knots of wind, always in an excellent atmosphere on board. The comfort on this boat is absolute. We didn’t break a single thing, apart from one cushion snap, which says a lot about the incredible reliability of the Outremer 55.
Sailing at over 20 knots while remaining ultra comfortable, safe and high-performance… We couldn’t have dreamed of a better transatlantic crossing.”
Jean Jullien, Skipper of Enjoy the Silence:
“What an immense joy! So many emotions colliding… we’ve just crossed the Atlantic! What a fantastic and intense adventure. We gave it our all with my wife, Céline, Fabien, and Marc as an outstanding tactician. Weather analysis, routing, watch shifts, YB, and this exceptional boat, the Outremer 55, in terms of performance, safety and comfort.
The days passed with so much pleasure. We are proud of this victory!
How is it already over?!
Thanks to the ARC+ for this remarkable organisation. Thanks also to the ARC+ and OUTREMER communities for all the kind messages we received.”
A big congratulations to all Outremer crews for this crossing:
