Anne and Henrick shared with us their feelings on sailing during the second leg of ARC +<\/h4>\n

They sail aboard the Outremer 52 Salto who crossed the finished line at the head of the fleet.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cThe highlights of our journey:<\/strong>
\nWe had an excellent start, which allowed us to pull ahead of the competition within the first few hours. We were lucky enough to catch a mahi-mahi, which made for a delicious dinner!
\nThe sunsets and sunrises were absolutely stunning. With the kids, we took time to play with Lego, bake, paint, read, search for dolphins, whales, and flying fish, and stargaze at night.
\nWe felt extremely comfortable aboard the Outremer 52. The boat handled all weather conditions and swell effortlessly. Even in large waves, we always felt safe and at ease.<\/p>\n

A challenging moment:<\/strong>
\nWe lost all 12V power halfway through the race due to a burnt-out cable. That was definitely not much fun!<\/p>\n

Our overall impression of this leg:<\/strong>
\nWe are extremely satisfied! The first leg taught us a lot about how to sail efficiently with our Outremer. During the second leg, we were able to put that knowledge into practice for a fast passage. Our motto: \u201cSlowness is smooth, smooth is fast.\u201d<\/i> With an Outremer, even \u201cslow\u201d is still quite fast! By avoiding mistakes, we managed to sail very efficiently. For routing, we played it safe, staying in the middle, gybing with the wind shifts, and covering the competition to avoid the risks of going too far north or south.<\/p>\n

Our experience with the ARC+:<\/strong>
\nParticipating in the ARC+ has been an incredible experience. While we initially joined for safety and camaraderie \u2013 especially for the children \u2013 the race also taught us so much. It pushed us to better understand how to sail quickly and efficiently while minimizing risks. The lessons we\u2019ve learned during this adventure will be invaluable as we continue our world tour.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n
