The 2021 Outremer 51 "Tacocat" represents a great opportunity to purchase a very well-equipped and updated Owner's Version (3-cabin layout) O-51 ideally located on the hard on the eastern end of the entrance to the Panama Canal. Following your purchase you have the nice decision to either head back east into the Caribbean for the enjoyable winter sailing season or turn west and make your way to the idyllic So. Pacific destinations.
The current owner is the second owner of this 2021 Outremer 51 and as a new job opportunity has changed his cruising plans, he relates the following of his enjoyable cruising adventures on Tacocat as well as the detailed inventory report as of Nov. 9, 2024:
We bought the boat in Martinique in March 2022, from a couple (new sailors) who took delivery of the boat 8 months earlier in La Grande Motte, and then crossed the Atlantic with a skipper. We decided to spend a season in the Mediterranean so we brought the boat back to France in May 2022 and sailed along the northern Mediterranean coast all the way to Turkey that we reached at the end of October 2022. We made our way back to France slowly in May 2023 for the last check at the yard before the end of warranty and from there, spent 5 months discovering Corsica, Sardinia and all the Balearic Islands (Mallorca, Ibiza), heading then to Gibraltar in October 2023. From there we made it to the Canary Islands at the beginning of November, to Cabo Verde mid-November and started our Atlantic crossing on Nov 28, 2023 to reach Martinique 12 days later. We had a smooth and speedy crossing enjoying the performance an Outremer truly delivers! From there, we headed north slowly, enjoying all what the Eastern Caribbean islands had to offer. We loved Les Saintes and St Barths and of course the BVIs that we reached in February 2024. We then sailed directly from the BVIs to Long Island in the Bahamas (3 1/2 days crossing) and we stayed 3 months in the Bahamas which was clearly the highlight of our Caribbean tour. We loved the Exumas obviously but our favorite was the Ragged Island where we spent a whole month with friendly fellow cruisers. We then sailed straight to Panama (4 1/2 days crossing) at the end of May 2024 and have been in the region since. Our original plan was to prepare the boat for a Pacific crossing to French Polynesia and therefore the boat was hauled out and serviced extensively (see list below). It is in outstanding shape and ready!
